Option to continue online In the new year, January 2022, York University students are told that the majority of courses will return back to campus. This means that most courses that have been started online will need to be resumed in person. Students have no say in whether they want to continue online or not. Amidst the pandemic, students from around the world who took advantage of the opportunity to participate in York University’s great programs, international students who returned home for the pandemic to their families and those who may not be able to return back at the university, now face the problem that York University will expect their in-person presence in 2022. In many cases and departments, York does not provide online classes, thus not even giving alternative classes to take. This loss of choice is a rapidly growing problem, requiring students to return in person is a concern for many as there is great uncertainty with current student schedules. The York University students did not know if or when they would return. Most students have commitments and schedules, and this sudden change affects schedules, which are now forced to be done quickly. Safety is also a very big concern for most, this new policy provides no care or respect for those who are immune compromised and feel uncomfortable returning in person. Reducing exposure has been the primary concern throughout this pandemic, so keep it that way. Not everyone will have the opportunity to return in person and York University is doing its students a huge disservice by denying them the option to continue online. This petition will serve as a voice and a way to help students around the world. Pendulum York Students 16.411

Dimulai 1 tahun yang lalu Mempetisi Doug FordOur goal is to repeal York’s mandatory covid-19 vaccine policy On August 13, York announced that students will be required to be vaccinated and show proof of their vaccination status to be in the campus. We believe that students have the right to give their voluntary informed consent to any medical treatment. Mandatory vaccination for everyone, regardless of their risk factors, age, previous infections, is unscientific and unconstitutional. We’re not anti-vaccination or covid-denying, but on the other hand, forcing indiscriminate vaccines doesn’t make sense as young people are more likely to die or be seriously ill from flu than from covid, and we already know that the fully vaccinated individuals can spread covid just as often as unvaccinated individuals. The majority of Canadian provinces, American states and European nations have not come out with a mandatory vaccine policy. We believe that this vaccination policy introduced by York University is a violation of the rights to freedom of conscience and belief, mobility and life, liberty and security of the person under the Charter Christos Papadopoulos 1.404 supporter

Update message 3 of 3 months Remember York University Rhonda L. Lenton Ontario Council of Universities York University must reduce tuition fees as all classes moved online We are asking York University, through this petition, to reduce tuition fees for education as the COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on students, mentally and economically. As all classes have been moved online, we would be very grateful if York University would consider our request for the following reasons: – Quality of some of the online courses. With students taking courses online this summer, and some of them having to do so in order to graduate, there is no question that online learning will be of a much lower quality than regular classroom learning. The same goes for the costs the university incurs when classes are moved online vs. regular classroom instruction. – Some students are unable to work as most workplaces are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Paying the same amount of money for online classes as we pay for regular classes during this pandemic would certainly place a large economic burden on some students. We, the students of York University, believe that, based on the above reasons, it would only be fair if York University played its part in these difficult times and reduced tuition fees (for Summer 2020 and possibly Autumn 2020) to a reasonable amount.
