Where To Create Online Courses – Imagine what it would be like if the money flowed into your bank account while you were sleeping or on vacation…

Offering online courses is a great way to use your time and knowledge that has great potential. But there is an upfront investment and it is not a good strategy for everyone. So before you invest too much time and money, it’s worth checking what it involves – so you can decide if and when you want to do it.

Where To Create Online Courses

Having spent over ten years training people to become trainers and training consultants, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the process for creating online courses is exactly the same as for in-person training and workshops. The only differences are how the training is delivered, the student’s experience, and the specific processes you need to facilitate it. So if you want to train both online and offline, you can apply what I share here in both settings.

How To Create And Sell Online Courses In India 2023

While reading this post, you may also find it helpful to check out my Free Online Course Builder Checklist, which lists tasks for each of the steps I cover in this article. You can download the checklist here.

Your “why” influences the type of courses you should offer, how you create, deliver and sell them, prices, profits and where they “fit” with your overall product/service offering. It can also help you make sure you create the right course first.

Everyone has the opportunity to learn how to create and sell online courses, but before you invest in it, make sure that this income generation strategy aligns with what is important to you. It’s also worth considering your skills, what you like to do, what you don’t like to do, and other available resources.

I remember working with a client who came to me with the idea of creating an online course and a free ebook. While discussing “why” she wanted to do this, it became clear that creating an online product and e-book would take her away from what she wanted to spend her time on. Similarly, I’ve worked with clients who want passive income but didn’t realize that to get sales, you still need to sell courses and books online. Similarly, for those who hate technology and do not want to pay others for the technical aspects, creating online courses may not be the best solution.

The 9 Best Online Course Platforms In 2023

When I first started learning how to create online courses, I dreamed of generating passive income and not needing much to sell. But I soon discovered that I had to learn how to sell them and constantly invest in strategies to get sales. Then I sold more courses and started feeling disconnected from my business – because I’m not excited about just making money. I also enjoy networking and helping people on a practical level and witnessing their journey. So I changed the business model to provide a better balance between online and offline activities. Others prefer to offer purely digital products sold through automated online marketing strategies.

This step is something many people don’t do, but doing it will make you more likely to make money from online courses.

In the corporate or workplace world, it is common business practice to conduct a training needs analysis before creating any training. The equivalent for training providers is doing marketing research and discussing course ideas with your ideal customers, community and followers – asking them what challenges they face or what they would like to know about a particular topic. Instead of trying to work it out yourself, let your audience tell you what they’re stuck with; what they need; what they want; and what they are willing to pay for. They’ll tell you pretty much everything you need to know to create really good courses and how to sell them – if you just ask. If you do your research first, you’re more likely to create courses that people will buy.

Questions to ask include the topics they are most interested in, their preferred training format (e.g. home-study or a more interactive course), and the social media platforms they use most. It’s also worth checking what your competitors are doing.

The Big 7: Create Online Courses Based On These Principles Of Learning

Conducting market research is a prudent business practice before creating or launching any product, service or business. Done right, it is a great way to connect with your audience as well as build interest before the course begins. Sometimes it can also emphasize that there is no justification for creating a scheduled course.

All online courses that I have made available have been created in response to proven demand. However, when I researched my market and became interested in the concept of developing the company by supporting charities and social organizations, I found that the interest in an in-depth, expensive course without additional education on the subject is not enough. But my audience said they would be interested in a book or a cheap product, so I published the book and made available an inexpensive 1-hour online course on the subject. Don’t waste your time and money creating an online course before you know people will buy it!

If you want to learn more about how to ask your audience the right questions to garner meaningful research, I also have a 1-hour online course on this topic called Just Ask. Find out more here.

This includes dividing what you’ll be teaching into a logical series of steps or topics (like the series of steps I explain in this article on creating online courses). By defining customer transformation in this way, you make it easier for those you want to sell to to understand what they will learn and be able to do if they buy it. You then turn these steps into lessons or modules that you will teach, making it easy to structure and create content for your courses. Start by asking yourself:

Then come up with a series of steps or tools to guide participants through to achieve those results, e.g. 5/7 steps to XXX or 5/7 tools or techniques to XXX.

This step involves coming up with a course outline that includes the name of the course, the benefits of enrolling, the main modules or lessons you will cover (which you obviously came up with during your customer transformation), and your prices. You’re not creating all of your content yet, but rather a general overview. In the offline world, this would be a poster or PDF document that you would distribute to generate interest. With online courses, you create a sales landing page (a page on your website) that contains all the relevant details about the course that people can enroll in.

As a consumer, it is likely that when you buy something online, you expect an immediate written confirmation of purchase detailing how and when you will receive what you have purchased.

When selling courses online, of course, you must implement an automated process that allows users to register, pay for, and access your online course. Plus all the components that will provide course participants with access to training materials and a positive experience.

Once you have an outline of your course and how people can sign up for it, I suggest you start promoting a pilot version of your course – before you create content!

By piloting your course, you can test your processes, survey demand, get feedback as you deliver content, and collect testimonials to launch your course. Again, this is a common best practice in the offline world. Sometimes this involves re-jigging or tweaking your intended content in response to what people in your remote are asking or saying. This means creating a course that better meets the needs of those who buy it.

If you’re designing a short course of around 1 hour, you can do what I do and run it as a live course (e.g. you’re happy with the content.

I usually limit my pilots to people who know me or follow me and limit the number of participants. I also suggest charging for pilot programs or organizing them as fundraisers as you continue to provide valuable content, and this is a way to test the market for pricing. There is no need to significantly reduce the price.

How To Create A Study Plan For Online Courses

I suggest you hold off on creating a course until you start filling up the pilot (thus knowing that there is a demand for your course).

You don’t need to create any content until this stage. Yes, develop the outline and scope of each module in advance so you have a pilot to promote, but don’t do any more unless you’ve fully tested the demand otherwise.

I have always provided remotes online and offline as well as at workplaces. I usually run online courses as live fundraisers or
